Beschreibung
The ruminant remains from the outcrops nearby the Dhok Bun Amir Khatoon (DBAK), district Chakwal, northern Pakistan. The outcrops have yielded remains of the ruminants that are part of the latest Middle Miocene belonging to the Lower Siwalik subgroup. Specimens collected from the DBAK localities belonging to Bovidae, Giraffidae and Tragulidae. The described specimens include horn core, isolated teeth and mandible fragments. The new material from the DBAK reinforces the idea that a variety of ruminants were present in the outcrops of the Lower Siwaliks during the latest Middle Miocene. The Dhok Bun Amir Khatoon ruminant fauna has similarities to the Middle Miocene Eurasian faunas. The analysis of the recovered dental characters was allowed individual variations and contributes knowledge about the Siwalik latest Middle Miocene ruminants.
