Beschreibung

Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC)is a omnipresent pathogen causing huge economic losses in poultry production as main causative pathogen as well as secondary infectious agent in most of the avian diseases. There are large number of serotypes of APEC which keep on changing their antibiotic sensitivity pattern. Many serotypes have been reported to be zoonotic in nature and thus may pose threat to human health also. Therefore knowledge about its epidemiology, prevalent serotypes and antibiotic sensitivity becomes essential for its efficient control and prevention. Efficacy of trivalent killed bacterin was also evaluated using three most prevalent serotypes in the region.
