From that developed a desire to write for children herself. Her own children and those of her friends provided a rich source of inspiration. Along the way she discovered that many children prefer non-fiction to fiction. Researching material for her non-fiction titles led to a fascination with wild animals, some of which have made an appearance in her latest stories.
